Creating safer environments for every child.

01

Our commitment

HOPE is committed to safeguarding children and ensuring that everyone involved in our work understands their responsibility to protect children from harm.

02

Zero tolerance

We do not tolerate child abuse, exploitation, neglect, harassment, discrimination, trafficking, or any behavior that places a child at risk.

03

Respect & dignity

Children supported through our work must always be treated with respect, kindness, dignity, and consideration, regardless of their background or circumstances.

04

Safe interactions

Staff, volunteers, partners, and representatives must maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with children and must never misuse their position of trust.

05

Images & information

We take care when collecting, using, and sharing photographs, stories, and personal information relating to children. Information is handled responsibly and with appropriate consent.

06

Reporting concerns

Any concern involving the safety or wellbeing of a child should be reported promptly to the appropriate person within HOPE. Concerns are treated seriously and handled responsibly.

Everyone has a responsibility to protect children.

Child protection is a shared responsibility. Anyone working with or representing HOPE is expected to act in the best interests of children, recognize potential risks, and take appropriate action when a concern arises.

We encourage an environment where concerns can be raised without fear of intimidation or retaliation. Reports are handled with appropriate confidentiality while prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of the child.

The best interests of the child come first.

Our decisions and activities involving children are guided by their safety, dignity, wellbeing, and best interests. We expect the same commitment from organizations, partners, volunteers, and individuals who work with HOPE.
